The Loans Hub ("we", "us", "our") runs theloanshub.co.uk, a website that helps UK businesses compare and access finance and business protection. The Loans Hub is part of the Connection Technologies group of websites. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with and the rights you have. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you request a quote or send us an enquiry we collect your name, email address, phone number, business name, the type and amount of finance or cover you are interested in, and any other details you choose to provide in the form (for example your turnover or how long you have been trading).

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site we record the pages you view, the page that referred you, your IP address and your browser and device type. We use this to run and secure the site, count visits and understand which pages are useful. If you arrive from an advert or campaign link we also record the campaign details in the link (such as UTM tags or an ad click ID) so we know which campaigns lead to enquiries.

Information from partner websites. We also receive enquiries that you submit on other websites in the Connection Technologies group. Those sites pass us the details you entered so that we can handle your enquiry in the same way as one made directly on this site.

How we use your information and our legal basis

• To handle your enquiry and introduce you to suitable providers — because you asked us to, and it is in our legitimate interests (and yours) to respond to your request.
• To run, secure and improve the website, including preventing spam, fraud and misuse — our legitimate interests in operating a safe, working service.
• To measure how the site and our campaigns perform — our legitimate interests in understanding which content and campaigns are useful. We do this with our own cookieless analytics.
• To send you marketing — only where you have agreed to it. You can opt out at any time.
• To meet legal and regulatory obligations and to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We will never sell your personal data.

Who we share your information with

• Lenders, brokers, insurers and other finance partners that can help with your enquiry. They will contact you about it and become data controllers for the information we pass to them, so their own privacy notices will also apply.
• Service providers who help us run the site, such as our web hosting and email delivery providers. They only process your data on our instructions.
• Other companies in the Connection Technologies group where needed to handle your enquiry or operate our shared systems.
• Regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where the law requires it.

Where your data is stored

Our website and database are hosted in the United Kingdom. Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google servers and Google receives your IP address.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up, and for as long as we need them to meet our legal obligations or to resolve disputes. We keep website usage records for as long as they are useful for running and securing the site. When we no longer need personal data we delete it or make it anonymous.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Our visitor analytics work without cookies. If you use a partner's website or finance provider's service after leaving our site, their own cookie policies apply.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• have inaccurate data corrected;
• have your data deleted;
• restrict or object to how we use your data, including objecting to direct marketing at any time;
• receive your data in a portable format; and
• withdraw your consent where we rely on it.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns first, so please contact us before approaching the ICO.

Keeping your data secure

The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to enquiry data is restricted to authorised staff.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
